a phonebook would be great
Developer response | Feature added |
| We have a new product called cellity Communicator (all our products in one including freeSMS!!) that has a phone book! Check it out here: http://www.getjar.com/products/14845/cellityCommunicator
It has many other improvements over freeSMS as well
as i came to know dat uptated version of cellity free sms is coming. so will it work on nokia 6220? i mean my cell only support midp1 java i think. so will the latest version of cellity free sms work on my cell? and does cellity communicator work on my cell?
Developer response | Feature added |
| The Low versions of freeSMS and Communicator are both Java midp1 versions and should be supported. There are only small changes to the freeSMS version however Communicator is recommended for the following advantages: A much improved contacts list, the contacts can be backed up/restored, the graphical version can import the native phonebook, Communicator supports any Character-Set and many many more… | |
i was hoping that this product can send free sms from some1 who's using this application to the other who's using a regular phone (meaning no gprs nor internet phone connection) but i guess im wrong, 2 people will need to connect to the internet or gprs phone in order to enjoy the benefits of this product. if thats the case its much better to use a web base chat application. since you can actually have a good conversation with chatting than this. but its my opinion and my view of this product if im in anyway im wrong please correct me.
Developer response | Not coming soon |
| Yes you are correct to view your full messages your receivers must also have cellity freeSMS installed. However the difference between cellity Communicator / freeSMS and a web based chat program is that we offer a Ping calling service - meaning if the client is not open on your phone and you get a new message we give you a short unanswerable phone call to indicate you have a new message (therefore saving bandwidth on your phone). By transferring our messages via the internet we are able to keep our service free. It should be also noted that with our new software 'cellity Communicator' you can also send normal SMS messages at a reduced price. | |

Developer response | Not coming soon |
| Can you please send the details to our support team @ http://www.cellity.com/en/service/contact.html including your phone number and mobile phone model so we can check this for you. | |
pls add a miss call notification for new message
Developer response | Feature added |
| If freeSMS is not running and someone sends you a message then you will receive an unanswerable phone call from the number 00496966102800 indicating you have a message. Now just open the cellity freeSMS client (allowing internet access) and you will be able to view the new message. | |
Dear Deverloper!
Your product works quite well. But i hope some features would be made.
First when i click enter to chosse a contact to add, the program doesn't work anymore. I'm out and write smses again.
Second i could not paste a copy to New SMS.
I'm looking toward to your developed product.
Thanks
Developer response | Being considered |
| Thanks for the suggestions. The add contact crash is known on some Nokia phones and there is nothing we can do about it at the moment. However we have a new product cellity Communicator with freeSMS build into it that may work better on your phone. You could try this version. The copy and paste is a good idea and I will pass this along to the developers.
EDIT: check out cellity Communicator !! It has new and improved messaging features.
i need a free browser for my java enabled phone that is enable to save web page
i have 2 browser.........one is default by nokia and another is opera . but none of then cannot save webpage which i need most.please recommend me for a free mobile (java midp 2.0) browser by which i can save web page
Developer response | Not coming soon |
| Unfortunately I do not know of a mobile web browser that can do this. cellity create only telecommunication products so we are unlikely to develop such an application. | |
This is really cool!! I love playing with it. However, I have one suggestion. I think if this software has a ringtone as a reminder for incoming message, that will be just great!
Developer response | Being considered |
| It should have a ping call if the application is closed and you get a new message. If you mean a ringtone when the app is open and you get a message then I believe this should be the same as your normal incomming SMS sound. | |
Can you make it that it don't disconects after sending message,to make it stay always connected, because every time i connect my operator charges me.
Developer response | Being considered |
| Most providers charge per 1kb, 10kb, etc ... hence it is better to stop the connection where possible to reduce bandwidth. I have not heard of a contract like yours where you are charged for each connection! Could you please give a link to your contract GPRS connection costs to en-support@cellity.com so we can see what can be done. | |
i'm for malaysia using maxis operator (prepaid) the software works well for me. just that the charge is quite inconsistent even my text does not reach 1000 char, i've found that the charge is between 3-7 sen. this is still better than the network charges especially when sending sms inter-operators which will charge 15sen (20 sen after peak hours). overall, good app ;)
Developer response | Not coming soon |
| By transferring our messages via the internet we are able to keep our service free. However this means your network provider will still charge you for GPRS costs which as you say is cheaper then sending a normal SMS. 1 Char = 1 Byte for your information. Therefore a text message of 1000 characters = 1kb. This should help you work out your data charges from your network provider as they usually charge per kb. | |
the features is so slow
Developer response | Coming soon |
| We are currently working on a new version. Please be patient. If you mean something else then please let us know at en-support@cellity.com
EDIT: check out cellity Communicator !! It should run much better on your phone.
I think if application would be support native encodings it would be great.
Developer response | Coming soon |
| Thankyou for your feature request. We will be adding support for extra character sets in a future version.
EDIT: check out cellity Communicator !! It supports all character sets!
Both freeSMS and WoldCALL worked OK on my ASUS P535 (not P525!) through Wi-Fi internet connection.
Only thing is need to be adjusted is a connection check timeout parameter. It´s too short so I had hard time confirming mobile Internet access for application.
Timeout should be not less than 10-20 sec!
Developer response | Not coming soon |
| Thank you for your feature request. Unfortunately there is no easy way to increase the timeout. The reason is that the Java VM handles all connection maintenance functionality incl. connection closing and timeouts. We have no way to define any timeout – this is a feature request to the developer of the VM.

sounds to be great

| Thank your for your request however unfortunately I don't fully understand it. Could you please rephrase and send to en-support@cellity.com | |
Hi! I'm installing the app but it say that needs an internet connection. wish means charges by my operator, is this happening everytime that I'll send a sms? or just the first time to get installed? I hope you can help me 'cause if its like that its not free for me....
thanks
Developer response | Not coming soon |
| Thank your for your request and sorry for the late reply. That is correct we transfer our messages via GPRS data. By transferring our messages via the internet we are able to keep our service free. This means a small amount of data (<1kb) is used to check for messages as well as sending and receiving. Please check with your network provider for your GPRS costs. | |
awesome application, but does lack a few features that i would love. when message sending fails, you should have the option to resend it. this could be assigned to the left button cause currently it only says back. its a nightmare when typing a 1000 character message and it fails. my phonebook requires me to scroll through all the names an not for instance just typing n to get to the name nick quickly. some type of smiley conversion where it converts common smileys to small images instead. i also that sometimes the ping call comes long after the message send time. i think this is from overload?
Developer response | Feature added |
| Thanks for your feature suggestions and i'm very sorry for the late reply. I have forwarded the saving the message on fail, name search and smiley suggestions to our developers. We do occasionally have problems recently with the ping call system. If it continues please send a support request to use stating your phone number. (en-support@cellity.com) EDIT: check out cellity Communicator !! It has all new phone book and messages features ! | |
Great product, just add hebrew, arabic, russian to the program.
Developer response | Coming soon |
| Thankyou for your feature request. We will be adding support for extra character sets in a future version.
EDIT: check out cellity Communicator !! It supports all character sets!
