Developer whats your stand on this? Freeware? Why are you harvesting IME numbers from people? Registration don't have to be with IME numbers, it can be done with emails. IME number is unique to each phone and is being used security purposes, like payment, tracking and disabling stolen mobile phone etc. Getjar should be alerted not be used by people who collect IME numbers for unverified purposes.

Developer response

If it is about IMEI number the user is talking about, it is the unique identification number used by network providers and mobile related applications to distinguish a mobile phone from others. This is exactly the reason we use IMEI number for. MGuard unlock codes have been generated by millions of users and never had to face a problem because of sharing the IMEI. And now we recommend everyone to use Roblock Theft Recovery for Sony Ericsson, the advanced and more feature rich version of mGuard to protect your Sony Ericsson - Java mobile.

Dexmobile.com website has a better version of mGuard called Roblock that does not cost you one SMS on restart. I restart everyday so Roblock is better option for me. It also does GPS tracking for my non GPS device and also gets back contacts from stolen phone. Check out the dexmobile website for Roblock

Wonderful Software esp considering its free. It works !! Now Suggestions: The new user of the cell phone might be easily able to delete the installed software. Cant you program it to ask for the password if some one tries to delete it. Does it continue to work even if the s/w is deleted from the cell And the software on installation gets stored as mGurad1.1. Cant you allow it to be renamed. That way the new user wont be able to identify it easily. == I think its best to store it in a new folder and then use one of the folder locks omni present on getjar.
