TwitterGPS is a location-aware client for the Twitter social network. It runs on smartphones which support Global Positioning Satellite (GPS). It enables Twitter users to exchange twitter messages (tweets) which contain information about their locations and then view these locations on maps - either on the phone or on a PC browser.

 

With TwitterGPS, Twitter users can enjoy location-aware, social networking without the need to switch to a special location-based, social network or subscribe to any additional location service.

 

When a user has posted an update with a location link, their friends who have PC access to Twitter can just click on the link to open a map of the user's location.

 

Friends equipped with TwitterGPS who receive a tweet containing a location link created by Twitter GPS can open a map of the originator's location.

 

Twitter uses wireless packet data efficiently to get tweets, post updates and download maps. TwitterGPS supports simple, high level settings for managing the phone's GPS capabilities.
