Overview:
Spacer is a Today Screen plugin that really doesn`t do anything. All it does is draw a blank item window on the Today Screen with a specified vertical height. Why would you want such a "do nothing" plugin? Some people only display a few plugins on their Today Screen and would like to space them apart by a certain distance. Using this Spacer plugin allows you to do this.

For example, say you have two plugins activated on your Today Screen as shown below. If you insert the Spacer plugin between these two other plugins, you can define a vertical distance between them on the display.
