the downloas and installation was not a problem. When I ran the game is worked fine as well but once I tried to play it there was no way to control the pieces. The ONLY way to control the pieces was if I chose the "Show keyboard" option from my phones menu button. when I did that I was able to contol the pieces but the keyboard took HALF the phone screen and I didn't know where each piece was going. Overal I could not play the game at all. What a bummer. Not really compatible with a Blackberry storm.

When I start a new game the screen become blank. When the first piece hits the bottom the screen returns to paint correctly. This is the only issue I found. Overall a good game to play.

First truly free no strings attatched tetris app to work correctly on my phone today. Simple graphics, wich I am a big fan of. Im also a bit of a techno hippie so im also a fan of open source aplications even though I myself know nothing about coding.

A good Tetris implementation. Finally a tetris game in which you play until you win (limited number of levels, certain level goals) not lose. And finally a tetris game that saves game state, so that you can resume playing later. And it works smooth :) Advanced (non-standard) figures add a twist to the game.

It is a MIDP 1.0 application, so don`t expect sound and fullscreen mode. But that`s not a big problem at all.

Notes for the author of the game:
1) The resize algorithm doesn`t use the screen estate well and as a result the blocks look quite tiny (this is critical for a mobile game). For example, on the screen of my phone (176x220) the game leaves about 20% of blank space at the bottom. Maybe the interface should be reorganized (statistics, level quota and next figure areas).
By the way, I programmed a tetris-like game either (in MIDLetPascal), you can have a look at it and if you like the resizing algorithm, I`ll try to help you. Here`s the link: alfozavr1.narod.ru/midletpascal/mobile_java_games.html

2) When you switch advanced / standard blocks, there`s no warning that the current game will be reset.

Developer response

Uhm! Thank you for comprehensive review of G3tr1s Pavel! I will have a look at your game and I will definitely try to change my resize algorithm... Hopefully, the new G3tr1s version will come out soon. Regards, Jiri.
