Libris should run on a Nokia 6085. Our only concern would be the 6085's screen size is 128x160 which is smaller than the recommended minimum screen size for Libris. As a result, some Libris menus may be clipped. We don't currently have any users reading on the Nokia 6085. We maintain a list of devices being employed by Libris users on our site.

Simply the best! Multiple list of ebooks available with the signed version, but see previous review by Andrew. Very comfortable font sizes with very smooth display. Bookmarks are an invaluable feature, especially for use with Palm Doc ebooks which do not have a navigable contents as do books in Libris format. Cheers to the Hillbilly Interactive Team!

At the time of this review, this is the ONLY good ebook reader out there in the form of a java application. It has some nifty features like a table of contents, bookmarks, auto recall of your current page on start, and large/small font sizes.

For users of Cingular and T-mobile (the 2 major US GSM carriers) and a branded device released after the end of 2006, you will not be able to utilize a "library" of multiple ebooks on your mobile due to restricted access to the file system--EVEN with the signed version. Applications certified only by the carrier or a manufacturer have this ability. Luckily, Libris supports one "built-in" ebook on the application. You can replace it with one of your choosing using an included utility. This will require re-installing the application every time you change books. It`s not intuitive, but it works.

Developer response

We have had reports from customers that problems encountered installing or running the signed version of Libris on devices branded by some US service providers can be avoided by debranding the device.

downloaded fine but failed to run.

Sorry, we don't currently support BlackBerry devices due to the RIM specific JSR 75 file system access / signed app to COD translation complications. We do, however, have users reading with many models of Motorola, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung devices.

I downloaded the demo and was impressed with Libris so I bought it. I copy books onto my Micro SD card and I buy books in Palmdoc format from Fictionwise. I can carry my own library of books around with me wherever I go. I just love it. I now have one small device to carry that I can use for multiple purposes. I can read in the doctor`s office, getting my hair done, on a plane, in bed at night. Anytime I have some time to put in I just take out my phone and start reading. No heavy books to carry. For $10 it`s fantastic!
