9/10 for the idea! lol...anyway i would like to ask a question... why can i not use this? it comes up with a message saying "allow application to send to the internet?" i click yes and it says connection failed! i reall want to use this application! i spoke to a guy from sony erricson and said it was 3rd party software and they are not compatible...but this website says diffrent... can somebody please help me connect my java to the internet? (biz39@hotmail.co.uk) p.s the internet wont work for any other applications such as opra mini and others! p.p.s once it starts working...can i send texts to people who donmt have cellity freeSMS? thank you!!!

Please check your email. cellity support has sent instructions to setup GPRS internet settings properly for your phone. You actually need to check with your Network Provider (not Sony Ericsson) to get the correct settings. Also please check the following option with your phone is set to the correct GPRS setting: Menu - Settings - Connectivity - Java Settings. The receiver also requires cellity freeSMS or cellity Communicator on their phone to view your messages.

I am using cellity for couple of months and I would ask some questions, because I would like to try Cellity Communicator. Has the free.sms application improved or stayed basically the same? And can I have Cellity Communicator and Cellity free.sms both installed on y mobile phone at the same time? I wouldn't wish to mess something up :) Thank you for this great product!

Yes you can use both at the same time however Communicator includes all the features of freeSMS and is compatible with freeSMS users. We recommend using Communicator as there are a lot of improvements integrated in the Communicator, the Contacts can be backed up/restored, the graphical version can import the native phonebook, Communicator supports any Character-Set and many many more… You can hide the not used calling options from the menu if you want - to do so the Telephony mode can be switched off in the Options.

Please try cellity Communicator: http://www.getjar.com/products/14845/cellityCommunicator It has a nicer user interface and many more features! freeSMS is a barebones application however Communicator has all the features of freeSMS but with many many features!

Absolutely brilliant piece of software! And for all of those complaining that the recipient need to have it installed in order to receive the msg, just remember that couple of years ago, the ones that had cell phone complained that you can talk and sms only if the other side also had a cell phone.... If you don't get the point, just call your friend who you would like to sms, and tell him to install the app.

May I ask a question?? If the recipient of the SMS have the application installed on there phone, do they need to pay for the GPRS cost??

Yes they have to download the message onto their phone (1 Character = 1 Byte) therefore they will encounter a small amount of GPRS traffic.

You are correct to view your full messages your receivers must also have cellity freeSMS installed. However the difference between cellity Communicator / freeSMS and a web based chat program is that we offer a Ping calling service - meaning if the client is not open on your phone and you get a new message we give you a short unanswerable phone call to indicate you have a new message (therefore saving bandwidth on your phone). By transferring our messages via the internet we are able to keep our service free.

my provider's gpprs charges are more expensive than sms charges. so does that mean this software is not effective for me?

Unfortunately that would then be so. However you should note for calculation and comparison purposes that 1 character in your text message = 1 byte of data. Therefore a very very long text of 1000 characters is 1kb of data. Some providers will charge per 10kb.

1. when i register from my phone by entry phone number, i didn't get activation code. so i'm answer 'no' when aplication ask me, but they didn't give me the code again. i'm try other way by select 'new registration' and then i got that code! thanks. hey, why can be behaviour like that? 2. i can't add contact when using sgh c21, is it?

1) The procedure there is correct. By selecting No and then New Registration you requested a new code. The first must not have made it to you for some reason. 2) You can manually add contacts to your cellity Contact List. You will only need to do this once for each contact and then they will remain saved there.

hi there people, this software works fine in my handset in the UK, But when i text my friends in India. They get part of my message and then it says downlaod...xxxsomethinxxx, does this mean everytime my friends received my sms in India, they will get charge for GPRS data for reading my full message, please clarify.Thanks

This occurs only the first time and only when the receiver also does not have cellity freeSMS installed. Once the receiver clicks on the download link in that SMS they will then be able to view the entire message. By transferring our messages via the internet we are able to keep our service free.

wel dis product is gr8 n so easy2 use as well and best part is we can send free sms wow. but in my cell (nokia 6220), the very 1st day it worked well but second day sometimes it shows error when i try to launch this program it says "unable to run" pleas help me giv me suggestion i rely luv 2 use dis program i became so fan of dis software plz help me why i am gettindat error time to time.

Hello Mayank! You can send as many SMS as your want and when sending an SMS the only resulting cost is only of the data tariffs (via GPRS) you agreed upon with your mobile phone provider (cellity itself charges you nothing!).
