Based on the popular CEDICT English-Chinese dictionary.

No need for an internet connection, the dictionary is directly included in the JAR-file.

New feature: the built-in Chinese Bitmap Fonts allow to display Chinese translations on all cell phones.

Requires cell phone or PDA that supports JAR-files with 5.8 MB.

English -> Chinese: enter English word as usual

Chinese -> English: enter Chinese characters (both traditional and simplified work) or pinyin with tone numbers (e.g. "ci2 dian3") or pinyin without tone numbers (e.g. "ci dian") or pinyin with accents (e.g. "c? diǎn").

Wildcards such as * and ? can be used. Several search and display options are available in the Settings dialogue.

DictionaryForMIDs is an Open Source application that can be set up with dictionaries for any language. More information and dictionaries are available from the DictionaryForMIDs website http://dictionarymid.sourceforge.net. There are dictionaries for English, Portuguese, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, and many more !
