CURLING BASICS

The basic purpose is to get a stone as close to the tee as possible. However, many types of strategic shots are also used, to knock an opponent`s stone out of position, to guard a teammate`s scoring stone, or to knock a teammate`s stone into better position. When all 16 stones have been thrown (8 by each team), an "End" has been completed. Only one team can score on each End: the team that has a stone lying nearest to the tee. The team gets 1 point for each stone that is nearer to the tee than any of the opposition`s stones. In order to count, a stone must be at least partly within the house.

CONTROLS

Delivery
When delivering a stone, you can set its speed, direction and rotation with the stylus. This is done with a single stylus store. Tap a stone and start dragging it in the desired direction. At the beginning, the stylus more influences the speed and direction. As the stone gets speed, moving the stylus starts to more influence stone`s rotation and less its speed and direction. Below are examples of some situations:

Sweeping
Sweeping is done by brushing the ice in front of the stone on the animated stone icon in the bottom/right corner of the screen. Brushing the ice in front of the stone will prolong its sliding, brushing on the sides will change stone`s rotation. Until all stones have come to rest, you can activate any of your stones by tapping them with the stylus. Then, sweeping is applied to the activated stone.

CLUB MANAGEMENT

At the first run of the game you will need to select your club from the 16 clubs available. All further Single games and Tournaments will be played with this club.

To progress in GX Curling Deluxe, you will have to earn money, as this will allow you to play with new teams and open new tournaments for your club.
When you start your club, only several opponent teams and tournaments, having the lowest game and entrance fees, are open for you. Playing (and, of course, winning) Single games is a quick way to earn cash, however, in most cases the payout rates are only two times the fee you pay. In addition, winning a game with the top opponent club, which is extremely difficult, will bring you $20 000, while an entrance fee in "GX Ultimate" tournament is $200 000. So, you will have to play tournaments for higher payouts.

The ultimate goal for your club is taking the 1st place in "GX Ultimate" tournament and receiving $2 000 000 prize.

PRACTICE

GX Curling Deluxe includes 15 standard curling situations that you can practice: "Back House Weight", "Front House Weight", "Raise Takeout", "Guard", "Hit and Stay", "Takeout", "Double Roll-in", "Trhough a Port", "Freeze", "Hit and Roll", "Come Around", "Draw Raise", "Clearing Peel", "Double Takeout" and "Hackweight Takeout".

[!] Extended demo version allows unlimited practicing. Download the demo now.

SINGLE GAMES

In Single games, you can play against any opponent club of the 16 clubs available. To play a game, you must pay a fee. If you win the game, you get a cash prize. There are different fees and prizes for playing games with different opponent clubs. Fees to play with the first 2 clubs are zero and cash prizes are very small. To play with the top opponent, "Snow Leopards", you`ll have to pay $10 000 and have a chance to get $20 000 prize.

TOURNAMENTS

Participate in Tournaments and win cash rewards for your club. Six tournaments are available, with increasing entrance fees and cash prizes. Initially, only "Pine Tree Junior" tournament with the lowest entrance fee is open for you. You must earn money for your club by playing Single games or winning in simple tournaments, to be able to participate in more serious tournaments.
