| The vOICe seeing-with-sound MIDlet translates live views from a camera phone into sounds that you hear via the phone's speaker or headset, thus targetting sensory substitution applications for the totally blind, and even synthetic vision. The vOICe uses pitch for height and loudness for brightness in a left to right scan of any view. Includes talking color identifier. Note: make sure that "Warning tones" is turned ON in your active profile, or else you may get no sound or just a soft clicking. Also runs on Motorola A1200 MING; currently does not run on Sony-Ericsson W800 and Z500 series (notably W810i and Z550i).

| Sorry K, I'm trying to get the W810i to work, but at least with firmware R4CE012 it still gives "application error" at startup with The vOICe v1.18.0. The Sony Ericsson K750i has no such problems, so I do not know why the W810i does not work short of some firmware bug. |

Works great on my phone. Color identifier function is well-performed ! I think this cool feature will really help the blind (i.e. choose color of everyday clothes). Thanks !

As mentioned on the midlet.htm page, there seems to be a SonyEricsson W810i firmware bug with JSR-135 image capture that supposedly would be resolved with firmware upgrade R4DB005 (web info last June). Do you have the latest firmware?
