DROS by Whoredoeuvre

DROS enables the user to relive the glory days of 80s computing on their mobile phone.

Features

  • DOS like command shell providing a set of simple commands such as copy, move, delete and list.
  • Ability to create/edit and run batch files
  • BASIC interpreter with graphics and file support
  • BASIC editor for creating/editing and running BASIC source files
  • FTP Client
  • Media Player for playing MP3s and videos
  • It`s free!

*DROS needs a MIDP-2.0 and JSR-75 compatible phone. Phones that have this present are Sony Ericsson phones starting with the K750i. Nokia Series 60 (Symbian) phones starting with the 6630. Nokia Series 40 phones starting with the 6230i. Nokia Series 80 phones starting with the 9300. Siemens phones starting with the 75 Series. Other phones may work but have not been tested. Very cool, however.. (maybe a silly question) i tried cd Media files cd "Media files" cd /e:/MSEMC/Media files/ nothing works. how do i change to a directory where the name has a space? i know how to do it in dos, and many shells but i can't figure out how to do it in DROS! =( HELP!

I'm using it on the w810i, and I can't get it to use the question mark and don't know how to use any feature other than the help list. You say there's a BASIC interpreter, but I don't know how to use and what commands/functions are available. Other than that it's a very cool, terminal-like interface. Is there a source for the info I need? I'm excited to program in BASIC.

how do u get it to run on a motorola L7. it gives me a file access error

I'm sorry but DROS will not work on the L7 phone. Motorola (unlike other manufacturers) require applications to be manufacturer signed in order to access the file system. To get an application manufacturer signed requires a business relationship with Motorola which I do not have.
