FreeDeepika Padukone is an Indian film actress and model, primarily known for her work in Hindi language films of Bollywood. Born to badminton player Prakash Padukone, she eschewed a career in sports to pursue a full-time career in film.
Following a successful modelling career, Padukone made her acting debut as the titular character of the 2006 Kannada film Aishwarya. In 2007 she played dual roles in Om Shanti Om, a hugely successful melodrama that won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
