Beninghoveʼs Hangmen is NYC based sextet that produces a menacing yet playful sound that at once is familiar, fun, and uniquely original. Their songs have been featured on Comedy Central, IFC, and most places left of center. The music, all composed by bandleader/saxophonist Bryan Beninghove, began as a Tom Waits meets-Danny Elfman project and later progressed into a Tarantino-esque romp. The band features Rick Parker on trombone, Eyal Maoz and Dane Johnson on guitars, Shawn Baltazor on drums, Kellen Harrison on bass, and Beninghove on sax and melodica. Ezra Gale also frequents the bandstand on bass. Beninghoveʼs Hangmen can be seen live every Monday at ZirZamin, in NYCʼs west village.
