You can also record audio from a usb audio input device like a usb mic or sound card. For using this feature you have to change some settings. Go to Settings -> About Phone, there you have to enable the developer options. It can be done by continuously click on the Build Number option few times. Then get back to Settings and find the Developer Options (It would be usually present as the second last option) and open it. Then find the click on "Select USB Configuration". And select "Audio Source" option. Also disable the "Disable USB audio".
