Shante Scott Franklin better known by his stage name Curren$y is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. Curren$y has a unique style which follows in the steps of rappers such as Cam'ron & Big Daddy Kane.
Curren$y's third album, Pilot Talk, was released on July 13, 2010. The album featured guest appearances by Snoop Dogg, Big K.R.I.T. and Mos Def, amongst others, with most of the songers produced by Ski Beatz. Curren$y's fourth album, Pilot Talk II, was released which featured Fiend and Raekwon, among others, with many of the songs produced by Ski Beatz. On February 1, 2011, Curren$y signed a label deal with Warner Bros. Music Group and started his imprint Jet Life Recordings. Curren$y has worked with Wiz Khalifa, Mos Def, Dom Kennedy, Big Sean, Stalley, and many others.
