Epic Games’ Star Wars Event Redefines Gaming
Fortnite premieres a Star Wars series, signaling a bold move in digital entertainment,

Epic Games and Disney Transform Entertainment
Epic Games, one of the world’s largest games developers, has announced its most ambitious crossover yet. Teaming up with the Walt Disney Company, the studio is bringing Star Wars: Tales of the Empire to Fortnite, with a world premiere on May 2—two days ahead of its Disney+ debut. This event isn’t just about Star Wars; it’s a glimpse into the future of digital markets.
The series will be shown inside Fortnite’s immersive Rebel Base, developed using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and backed by Epic Online Services, making it accessible to millions of video game players globally.
A Multi-Platform Digital Premiere
Star Wars: Tales of the Empire Lands in Fortnite on iOS?
Premiering exclusively within Fortnite from May 2 to May 5, the six-part series explores the darker corners of the galaxy. Players using iOS devices, Android devices, consoles, or PC can join the experience by logging in with their Epic Games account and accessing the event across platforms—including the Epic Games Store.
This marks a pivotal moment as Tim Sweeney, Epic’s CEO, pushes to make Fortnite not just a game, but a social and media hub, especially as the Digital Markets Act reshapes app distribution across mobile platforms like iOS and Android.
More Than Just a Viewing Experience
This event comes bundled with new in-game quests, cosmetic items, lightsabers, and characters from the Tales of the Empire series. A Deluxe Edition content pack will also be available, offering exclusive skins and gear. Fans of new immersive games like Clair Obscur will appreciate the artistry and integration offered in this Fortnite experience.
The launch is also a product of Disney's collaboration through the Disney Accelerator Program, which has helped forge deeper ties between Disney and Epic, hinting at future media-gaming crossovers.
Epic Games Sets the Bar Higher
By transforming Fortnite into a content delivery platform, Epic Games is positioning itself as more than a battle royale titan. The blending of original Disney+ content and in-game storytelling shows how the download and consumption of entertainment is evolving.
This move affirms Epic's commitment to reshaping the future of entertainment and gaming, pushing Fortnite far beyond traditional play into a realm where new games, streaming, and fandom converge.
