The Gun Geo Marker Mark 1 is an experimental geo marking app that allows the marking of locations where gun danger exists. Its premise is that if community organizers and citizens have a tool that allows them to anonymously mark and share locations where guns might be misused, then that might contribute to better sense personal geographic risk and thus greater safety.
Simply, the app combines anonymous posting with geo markers on a map so that people can exercise their first amendment right to discretely communicate with one another about the potentially sensitive issue of firearms misuse in their community.
