The user interface is one of the most decisive factors in the usability of apps, and as soon as you launch both apps, there is an obviously clear winner.
Opera Mini sports a more modern look, with a good use of colourful icons and better space management to display a lot of useful information including your browsing history, news, rss, icons for some popular sites and some suggested links. There is also a speed dial tab which you can customize with your own bookmarks for easy access to 9 of the websites you frequent.
UC Web Browser on the other hand sports a less colourful, more retro look, with its own take of many of the features Opera offers all neatly arranged into folders–Top Sites, Download Center, Mobile sites, News and Sports on the main tab. There is a Facebook and Favourites tab on either side of the main tab. UC Web browser’s interface, though designed to look sparse with loads hidden, feels dated due to the poor use of space especially on small screens.
